Work and Volunteer Experience

As an elected government leader (2012-2020) I chaired or served on the following committee and boards:

  • Environmental Sustainability Committee (founding chair)
  • Planning Committee
  • Audit Committee
  • Transit Authority Board
  • Point to Point Transit Society Board
  • Accessibility Committee (founding member)
  • Regional Emergency Management Organization Committee
  • Community Fibre Network (internet accessibility) Board
  • Source Water Protection Advisory Committee

My government experience, participation in a local Climate Circle, and interest in energy poverty led me to present at Plugged In! sharing energy issues and best practices for municipalities.

I continue to contribute to the many aspects of accessibility and also of progressive economic development in my province.

I am a Vision Mate with Canadian National Institute for the Blind, volunteering weekly to be my local Vision Mate’s eyes.

I chaired the Halifax Brewery Farmers’ Market Cooperative board of directors the maximum three terms 2016-2022 before stepping down as required.

I’m an active member in the Indexing Society of Canada (ISC/SCI) and on the ISC/SCI conference organizing committee.
