- I will need to know the timelines for your project,
- what publisher you are using,
- what kind of book you have written, and
- any space considerations for the index.
- I will need to see a sample, usually the first and a middle chapter, to estimate how long the index will take and to quote my fee.
- I usually charge between $4.00 and $7.00 (Canadian) per indexable page (at 250 words/page). If your work isn’t ready to be typeset, I can quote per 1,000 words.
